1. Introduction

We operate NBTX Guide as a New Braunfels local business directory. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use the Site, create an account, submit or claim a business, contact us, or purchase a listing plan. By using the Site, you agree to this Policy.

We collect only what we need to operate the directory, manage accounts and business requests, process payments, communicate with you, and protect the Site.

2. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

• Account details, such as your name, email address, and authentication information
• Business details, such as business name, address, phone number, website, category, hours, descriptions, images, and links
• Claim and review information, such as your role, verification details, and ownership confirmation
• Messages, correction requests, guest-writer pitches, and other information you send to us
• Billing and purchase information for paid listing plans. Payment card details are processed by Stripe and are not stored by NBTX Guide
• Consent choices, including terms and privacy acceptance, email marketing opt-in, SMS marketing opt-in, opt-out status, timestamp, source, IP address, and user-agent information when collected

Information Collected Automatically

• Usage data, such as pages visited, timestamps, referring pages, device and browser type, and screen dimensions
• Campaign and attribution data, such as UTM parameters, Facebook click identifiers, and first- and last-touch timestamps, when present in a URL or browser cookie
• Server and security information, such as IP address and request metadata, used for hosting, abuse prevention, and audit records
• Form submission details when you submit a request on the Site

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Create and secure user accounts
• Publish, review, correct, and manage business directory listings
• Review ownership claims and business submissions
• Provide paid listing features, process payments, manage subscriptions, and send billing notices
• Prepare online visibility reports using business information, public website and directory information, and available search-visibility data
• Configure and operate a custom AI chatbot using approved listing information, business content, and instructions you provide
• Review or update a Google Business Profile using information and authorized access provided by the business
• Send account, claim, submission, security, and billing emails that are necessary to provide the service
• Send marketing emails or SMS messages only when you separately opt in
• Respond to questions, requests, and correction notices
• Analyze aggregate Site activity, improve the Site, and detect or prevent abuse, fraud, and security incidents
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service

4. U.S. Residents’ Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by emailing info@nbtxguide.com. We may request information needed to verify your identity before completing a request.

California and Texas Residents

Categories we may collect include identifiers such as name, email, and IP address, commercial information such as listing-plan purchases, internet activity, professional information such as business name and role, and consent records. We do not sell personal information. Our use of Meta advertising tools may be considered targeted-advertising processing or sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising under some state laws.

To request access, correction, deletion, or an opt-out from targeted-advertising processing associated with information we control, email info@nbtxguide.com with “Privacy Request” in the subject line. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights. If we decline a request, you may reply to appeal that decision.

5. Analytics, Tracking, and SMS

We use lightweight analytics and server logs to understand aggregate Site activity, improve performance, protect the Site, and measure search visibility. We may use Meta Pixel on claim, submission, and account pages, along with Meta Conversions API for server-side claim, submission, and paid listing events, to measure and improve Facebook and Instagram advertising. Meta may use cookies, web beacons, browser or device identifiers, and information about activity on the Site to provide measurement services and to personalize, target, and deliver ads.

Information sent to Meta may include campaign parameters, page and event details, IP address, browser information, Meta cookie identifiers, and events such as a landing-page view, business search, claim start, completed claim or business submission, and paid listing purchase. When a person submits a claim or business, email address, phone number when provided, and an account identifier may be hashed before being sent to Meta for event matching. We do not send form messages, passwords, payment-card details, or sensitive personal information to Meta.

You can limit this advertising data use through your browser’s cookie controls, Meta Ad Preferences, and Meta’s activity-off-Meta controls. You can also use the Privacy Request process above. Disabling browser cookies may reduce browser-side tracking, but server-side conversion events connected to a completed claim, submission, or purchase may still be processed where permitted by law.

The Site may use Cloudflare infrastructure and logs for hosting, security, performance, and abuse prevention. It may also use Ahrefs analytics and an internal contact-click tracker. The contact-click tracker records limited information about a phone, text, or email link click, such as the link type, page, referring page when available, screen width, and short link label. It does not record message contents or information typed into forms.

SMS and Text Messaging

NBTX Guide and WhiteBoston LLC send SMS or text messages only to people who expressly opt in through an optional, unchecked consent checkbox. Marketing SMS consent is separate from account, claim, billing, and other transactional communications. Consent is not a condition of using the Site, submitting a business, claiming a listing, or purchasing a plan.

We use your number only for the message categories you selected. Marketing messages may include local business opportunities, updates, and promotional offers. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help, or contact info@nbtxguide.com. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Mobile information, SMS opt-in data, and consent status are not sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information may be shared with service providers that support messaging, customer service, security, or compliance.

6. Service Providers and Integrations

We disclose limited information to trusted service providers that help us operate NBTX Guide. They may use information only to provide services to us and are expected to protect it.

• Supabase for authentication, database, and related application infrastructure
• Stripe for payment processing and subscription billing. Stripe processes card information directly
• Resend or another email delivery provider for account, claim, submission, and billing emails
• Cloudflare for website hosting, infrastructure, security, and performance
• Analytics and search-visibility providers for aggregate Site measurement
• Meta Platforms, Inc. for Facebook and Instagram campaign measurement and conversion reporting
• AI service providers used to configure or operate paid chatbot features
• Google services when a business requests Google Business Profile optimization

Do not send account passwords through NBTX Guide. When a service requires access to a third-party business profile, use that provider’s authorized user, manager, or invitation tools. Information processed for a visibility report, AI chatbot, or profile optimization is limited to what is reasonably needed to provide the requested service.

7. Sharing and Disclosures

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We may disclose information:

• To service providers listed above
• When you direct us to share it or publish it as part of a public business listing
• To comply with law, legal process, or a valid government request
• To protect the rights, property, or safety of users, the public, or WhiteBoston LLC
• In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or asset sale, subject to required notice

8. Public Listings and User Content

Business information submitted for directory use may be published publicly. Do not submit passwords, payment details, government identification numbers, or other sensitive information in a business claim, correction request, or public listing field.

You retain ownership of information and content you provide. By submitting business information, you give NBTX Guide permission to review, edit for clarity, display, and distribute that information as part of the directory and related Site features. You may request a correction or removal through the available Site forms.

9. Data Retention

We retain account, listing, claim, billing, communication, and consent records for as long as needed to operate the Site, honor preferences, provide support, resolve disputes, document transactions, and comply with legal obligations. Security and audit logs may be retained for a limited period based on operational and security needs. We may retain transaction, opt-out, and consent records after an account is closed when needed to demonstrate compliance or prevent unwanted communications.

10. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the information we process. No online service can guarantee absolute security. If a security incident occurs and notification is legally required, we will notify affected individuals as required by law.

11. Location of Processing

WhiteBoston LLC operates in the United States. Personal data may be processed and stored by us and our service providers in the United States or other countries where those providers operate.

12. Children

The Site is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact us to request deletion.

13. Do Not Track

Some browsers transmit “Do Not Track” signals. The Site may not respond to all such signals. You can manage cookies and browser storage through your browser settings.

14. Third-Party Links and Embeds

The Site may link to third-party websites, maps, social profiles, booking pages, payment pages, or embedded content. We are not responsible for third-party privacy practices. Review the privacy policy of each third-party service you use.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy periodically. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the Site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy to the extent permitted by law.
